A moving depiction of the search for meaning in later life.

Golden Globe nominee Klaus Härö’s (The Fencer, 2015) bittersweet and moving drama follows an aging art dealer as he is presented with one final opportunity to fix his broken life and reconnect with his estranged daughter and grandson.

Jussi award-winner Heikki Nousiainen (Letters to Father Jacob, 2009) plays Olavi, a workaholic whose obstinately old school ways have left him behind by the corporatisation of the art industry. When his expertise and instincts lead him to identify what may be an obscure icon from a major Russian painter, he seizes the opportunity to prove his theory and relevance. Initially reluctant to involve his estranged family, the youthful energy and technological savvy of his grandson Otto proves useful to Olavi’s dogged detective work, opening up the possibility of repairing once-lost family ties.

Delivering unexpected laughs with equal measures of melodrama, One Last Deal is a stunningly shot story of redemption later in life which offers an engrossing perspective on the changing landscape of the art world.
